Operatives of the Sokoto State Police Command successfully repelled an armed bandit assault on Tsabre Village within the Isa Local Government Area, recovering two rocket launchers alongside other dangerous weapons.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Rufa’i, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday, saying the attack occurred at about 1am, when the bandits opened fire sporadically to create panic among residents.

He said the Divisional Police Officer in Isa immediately mobilised tactical teams, including the Anti-Kidnapping Unit and the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU), following a distress call.

Other items recovered were an army jungle hat, a sweater cap, five pairs of sandals and a rain jacket.

The police spokesman said the Commissioner of Police, Hayatu Hassan Shaffa, commended the officers for their swift response and gallantry during the operation.
