School Proprietor arrested for allegedly defiling 9-year-old pupil

The Plateau State Police Command has arrested one Ahmed Bello, a 40-year-old school proprietor, for alleged defilement of a 9-year-old pupil in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The police said the victim, whose name is being withheld, is a pupil at the suspect’s school.

Parading the Bello alongside 22 other suspects, the State Commissioner of Police, Ayodeji Faniyan, said the proprietor allegedly called the victim into his office and defiled her.

Narrating the case, the police commissioner said, “On 22nd August 2026 at about 12:30am, we received a report from a citizen of the State, reporting that her nine (9) year old daughter narrated to her how she was sexually abused by one Ahmed Bello, male 40 years old, the proprietor of her school.

“The minor alleged that while returning to her class after receiving medication at the School’s First Aid Office, the proprietor called her into his office where he sexually assaulted her. She further revealed that he gave her herbal medicine and instructed her to leave.

“Upon receipt of the report, the victim was immediately taken to the hospital for medical examination, while the suspect has been arrested and is currently undergoing investigation. Upon conclusion of our investigation, the suspect will be charged to Court for prosecution.”

In a related development, the police have arrested one Saleh Abdullahi, 35, for allegedly defiling an 11-year-old girl.

Parading the suspect, the commissioner said, “The complainant noticed her eleven (11) year old cousin walking abnormally and experiencing some difficulty when urinating.

“Upon inquiry, the minor narrated that on 19th August 2026, while on an errand to grind maize at the residence of one Saleh Abdullahi, male 35 years, the suspect lured her into his room and sexually assaulted her. The victim further alleged that the suspect threatened to kill her if she disclosed the incident to anyone.

“The victim was immediately taken to the hospital for medical examination, while the suspect has been arrested and is currently undergoing investigation. Upon conclusion of our investigation, the suspect will be charged to Court.”
