Reno Omokri Releases 30 Major Achievements By President Tinubu

Reno Omokri, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Mexico, has published a list of thirty campaign pledges he maintains have been fulfilled by President Bola Tinubu since taking office, forcefully backing the current administration’s performance across key sectors including national security, the economy, education, infrastructure, and governance.

Omokri made the claims in a post on his X handle, where he highlighted what he described as achievements recorded by the Tinubu administration and urged Nigerians to support the President.

In the lengthy post titled “Thirty Promises Made and Kept by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR,” Omokri listed policy decisions, infrastructure projects and reforms which he said reflected the President’s commitment to delivering on his campaign promises.

Among the achievements he attributed to Tinubu were efforts to stabilise the naira, achieve annual economic growth above four per cent, introduce compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles and provide direct flights from Nigeria to London through local airlines.

He also credited the President with ensuring that oil and gas proceeds are paid directly into the Federation Account without deductions, granting financial autonomy to local governments and expanding monthly allowances for members of the National Youth Service Corps.

“President Tinubu promised a stable Naira and DELIVERED,” Omokri wrote.

“President Tinubu promised above 4% annual GDP growth and DELIVERED.”

“President Tinubu promised CNG vehicles and DELIVERED.”

On the oil and gas sector, Omokri listed local refining of petroleum products and the direct remittance of proceeds into the Federation Account among the promises he said the administration had fulfilled.

He also claimed that Nigeria was moving towards becoming an exporter of refined petroleum products, writing that Tinubu “promised that under him, Nigeria will export refined petroleum products, and he is DELIVERING.”

On infrastructure, the former presidential aide highlighted three major road projects: the 465-kilometre Trans-Saharan Road, the 750-kilometre Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the 1,068-kilometre Illela-Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway.

He said the President had promised to construct the roads and was delivering on the commitments.

Omokri also listed the incorporation of the South-East corridor into the national railway network, student loans, increased military salaries and the new national minimum wage among the administration’s achievements.

On education, he credited Tinubu with addressing prolonged industrial disputes in universities and introducing student loans through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund.

He also referenced the President’s commitment to ensuring that students complete their academic programmes within the stipulated period.

“President Tinubu promised to end ASUU strike and DELIVERED,” he wrote.

“Bonus: President Tinubu said, ‘A Four-Year Course Will Be a Four-Year Course’ and DELIVERED.”

On the economy, Omokri claimed the administration had improved Nigeria’s financial position, citing the performance of the stock market, increased non-oil revenue and the country’s contribution to global economic growth.

He also listed the reduction of trade deficits, efforts to curb oil theft and Nigeria’s ability to meet or exceed its Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) production quota among the promises he said had been fulfilled.

Other issues highlighted in the post included the settlement of outstanding payments owed to the Super Eagles by previous administrations, improved diplomatic relations, passport availability and the restoration of visa-free and visa-on-arrival access for Nigerians travelling to Ethiopia and Kenya.

Omokri further credited Tinubu with what he described as progress in preventing commercial airline crashes, reducing tensions between the executive and legislature, and promoting free and fair elections, particularly in Osun State.

On foreign relations, he pointed to Nigeria’s State Visit to the United Kingdom as evidence of improved diplomatic engagement, describing it as the country’s first such visit since 1987.

He also listed what he called the administration’s zero tolerance for proven acts of corruption.

Concluding his post, Omokri argued that no Nigerian politician had made and fulfilled as many promises as Tinubu since the country’s amalgamation in 1914.

“In Nigeria’s history, from 1914 to date, no other politician has made and kept as many promises as His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he wrote.

He urged Nigerians to support the President, insisting that the administration would continue to fulfil its commitments.

“Whatever promises he made to Nigerians will always be kept,” Omokri added.
