The Society of Management Systems Practitioners of Nigeria (MASPAN) has advocated for enhanced partnerships to fast-track access to dependable, affordable, and clean energy throughout the country.
The society said practical collaboration among government institutions, industry experts, investors and technology providers was necessary to establish trusted standards, promote sustainable financing and ensure responsible technology transfer.
The call was contained in MASPAN’s message commemorating World Standards Day 2026, themed “Shared Vision for a Better World”, with a focus on Sustainable Development Goal 7, which seeks to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.
MASPAN President, Engr. Adebayo Adenekan, said Nigeria could strengthen regional value chains, attract responsible investment and create decent jobs by developing reliable energy systems anchored on recognised standards.
He noted that standards, effective institutions and transparent measurement were essential to translating the country’s clean energy ambitions into measurable results.
Adenekan also stressed the need to ensure that the transition to clean energy was fair and inclusive, particularly for women and girls, young people, rural communities and people in vulnerable situations.
“Capital and technology matter, but enduring progress also requires competent professionals, credible conformity assessment, accessible finance and integrated management systems that convert ambition into transparent, measurable improvement,” he said.
The society also emphasised the importance of cooperation among experts and institutions in sustaining the safety, reliability and progress of modern life.
It called for renewed commitment to standards-based development, sustainable financing, knowledge sharing and accountable institutions to support Nigeria’s progress towards affordable and clean energy for all.
