Kenya Recovers Stolen UK Luxury Land Rover In Major Crackdown

Law enforcement operatives in Kenya have successfully traced and recovered a luxury Land Rover Discovery that was stolen from the United Kingdom, following an intensive week-long joint security operation aimed at dismantling local and cross-border vehicle theft rings.

The recovery was made during Operation Carback II, coordinated by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) through its INTERPOL National Central Bureau in Nairobi and the Operations Directorate.

The operation, which concluded on Friday, involved several law enforcement and regulatory agencies and was part of a global initiative coordinated by INTERPOL under Project Drive Out, in collaboration with the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol).

According to the DCI, detectives inspected more than 1,800 vehicles physically and checked over 260,000 vehicles against INTERPOL’s database.
