The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) on Wednesday revealed that its ongoing recruitment exercise for Assistant Superintendent of Customs II is aimed at meeting its manpower requirements.
The organisation on Tuesday published the final list of successful candidates in the 2024/2025 recruitment exercise for appointment to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Customs (ACS II).
Meanwhile, NCS National Public Relations Officer, Deputy Comptroller of Customs, Dr. Abdullahi Maiwada, in a text message to The Nation, described the recruitment as a routine exercise approved by the board of the service.
According to him, the appointment has become necessary because some officers are nearing retirement while others have been promoted.
“It’s a routine exercise based on board approval to meet the manpower requirement of the Nigeria Customs Service.
“We have officers who are retiring soon and others who are being uplifted,” he said.

Maiwada said the exercise is part of the strategic vision to sustain the seamless operation of the NCS.
He stressed that the Service will contact the junior cadre with the list of candidates.
“Therefore, recruitment is part of the strategic vision to sustain the seamless operation of the Nigeria Customs Service. In due course, we are going to reach out to the junior cadre with the final list of candidates,” said the NCS NPRO.
Recall that on Tuesday, the Service published the names of the successful candidates in The Nation with the tag “The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has released the final list of successful candidates in the 2024/2025 recruitment exercise for appointment into the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Customs (ACS II).”
