Kano Governor Assures Tinubu Of Massive Northern Support In 2027

Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Governor of Kano State, has committed the backing of Northern Nigeria to President Bola Tinubu as he seeks re-election in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Yusuf gave the assurance on Saturday in Abuja at the inauguration of the Arewa for Asiwaju (A4A) campaign office, a movement established to mobilise support for Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima across the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The governor expressed confidence that the North would rally behind Tinubu, pledging to mobilise massive votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Kano, as the leading state with the highest number of votes in Northern Nigeria, will, in sha Allah, lead all Nigerian states to victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with massive turnout in favour of the APC,” Yusuf said.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the President’s second-term ambition, describing the A4A movement as a platform for strengthening political engagement and mobilising voters ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking at the inauguration, Vice-President Kashim Shettima said political support for the administration must be accompanied by accountability, good governance and tangible results that improve Nigerians’ lives.

“The North has demonstrated its support for President Tinubu,” Shettima said, stressing the need for the administration to deliver results that justify the confidence reposed in it.

The Vice-President acknowledged the economic challenges facing Nigerians and urged the administration to remain responsive to citizens’ concerns.

He emphasised the need to prioritise security, education, poverty reduction and the creation of economic opportunities.

The A4A movement is expected to coordinate support for Tinubu and Shettima across the northern states and the FCT ahead of the 2027 general elections.
