The Nigeria Immigration Service has announced an extension for its Special Passport Intervention program across the United Kingdom, shifting the closing date to November 27.
This is contained in a statement by the NIS Public Relations Officer, DCI Akinsola Akinlabi, made available to news men in Abuja on Tuesday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the NIS initially extended the exercise to run from October 3 to October 30.
Akinlabi said that the extension followed sustained demand and the need to accommodate more Nigerians requiring passport services.
According to him, the extension in line with the directive of the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, will continue at 56-57 Fleet ST, Temple, London EC4Y 1JU for the full length of the extension period.
“Similarly, the exercise will continue in the Nigerian House, 23 Platt LN in Manchester from Nov. 3 to 27, while the exercise at Hilton Convention Centre 13 Smithfield Road in Aberdeen AB24 4NR will run from Nov. 3 to 6.
“The extension at Western Leisure Centre, Ely, Cardiff CF5 5HJ is also only extended from Nov. 3 to 6,” he said.
The NIS spokesperson reaffirmed the service’s commitment to efficient, transparent and responsive passport service delivery to Nigerians at home and in the diaspora. (NAN)
