Senior non-academic personnel across Nigerian universities have granted the Federal Government a 14-day window to fulfill the pact finalized with the union in June 2026, failing which they will embark on a nationwide industrial action.
The ultimatum was issued at the end of the 56th National Executive Council meeting of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU).
The resolution was announced at a news conference in Abuja, where the union expressed dissatisfaction with what it described as the Federal Government’s failure to implement the June agreement.
SSANU warned that failure to meet its demands within the 14-day period could trigger an indefinite strike across universities nationwide.
The union said it would proceed with the industrial action without further notice once the ultimatum expires.
