Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu has emphasized the urgent requirement for enhanced cooperation between the federal and state administrations to effectively combat banditry and other criminal activities plaguing various regions of the country.
The Governor made the appeal in his message to the people of Sokoto State to mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
Governor Aliyu, who commended the support of the Federal Government in the fight against banditry in the State, stressed the need for the support to be sustained, expressing optimism that stronger collaboration would soon make insecurity a thing of the past.
“There is a strong synergy between the Sokoto State Government and the Federal Government in our collective commitment towards protecting the lives and property of our people,” he said.

The Governor further reassured the people of the State of his administration’s continued determination to bring an end to banditry in Sokoto State.
He also appealed to citizens to rally around the administration in its efforts to restore lasting peace and security across the State.
