A Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has arraigned a 28-year-old man, Falodun Tope Ernest, over alleged possession of illicit drugs and SIM cards.
The prosecutor, ASP Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that on September 14, 2026, at about 3:00 p.m. in Ado-Ekiti, within the Ado-Ekiti Magisterial District, the defendant unlawfully had in his possession 240 SIM cards without any justification.
ASP Oriyomi said the defendant, on the same date, time and place, also had illicit drugs in his possession.
The prosecutor noted that the offence was punishable under Section 345 of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State 2021 and Section 5(b) of the Indian Hemp Act, LFN 2004.
Counsel to the defendant, Barrister Oluwafemi Alabi, urged the court to admit his client to bail, assuring the court that he would not jump bail and would provide credible sureties.
In his ruling, the Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
