The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the restoration of its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) following a temporary disruption, urging tertiary institutions to accelerate admission processes ahead of approved deadlines.
In a statement issued on Monday, the examination body said CAPS was fully operational and advised candidates to promptly accept admission offers made to them.
JAMB also urged institutions to recover lost time and ensure that admissions were completed within the stipulated timelines for the 2026/2027 academic session.
According to the board, public universities are expected to conclude their admission exercises by October 31, 2026, while private universities have until November 30.
Other tertiary institutions are expected to complete their admission processes by December 31, 2026.
The board further advised candidates who previously awaited their results to upload or verify their credentials following the release of the 2026 National Examinations Council Senior School Certificate Examination (NECO SSCE) results.
It said the step was necessary to ensure that candidates’ results were available for consideration as institutions intensified their admission processes.
JAMB apologised for the inconvenience caused by the temporary disruption and thanked candidates, institutions and other stakeholders for their patience and understanding.
CAPS is JAMB’s platform for processing admissions into Nigerian tertiary institutions, enabling institutions to recommend candidates for admission and allowing candidates to monitor and accept admission offers.
