The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Apapa Area Command, has recorded its highest-ever single-day revenue collection, generating N28.1 billion in 24 hours.
The Command said it collected N28,102,000,914.61 on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, surpassing its previous record of N20.1 billion, achieved in September 2025.
The latest feat came weeks after the Command posted N323 billion in monthly revenue in July 2026, which the NCS attributed to improved compliance, trade facilitation, intelligence-driven operations and greater efficiency in digital Customs processes.
The Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, said the record was not merely about revenue figures but the contribution of the Service to national development.
According to him, revenue generated by Customs forms part of government resources used to fund infrastructure, security, education, healthcare and other public services.
Oshoba dedicated the milestone to the Federal Government and Nigerians, while commending the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, and the management of the Service for supporting automation, modernisation and reforms aimed at improving Customs operations.
He also acknowledged the cooperation of compliant importers, exporters, licensed Customs agents and other stakeholders, as well as Nigerians who provide actionable intelligence.
The CAC stressed that every compliant transaction contributes to national development, urging stakeholders to continue supporting legitimate trade.
Oshoba further charged officers and men of the Command not to become complacent, saying the new record should serve as a responsibility to improve performance while maintaining professionalism, transparency and trade facilitation.
He directed personnel to resolve legitimate disputes promptly and ensure that Customs procedures do not unnecessarily impede lawful businesses.
The Apapa Area Command, he said, would continue to pursue increased revenue generation, efficient trade facilitation, professionalism and stronger stakeholder collaboration in support of the nation’s economic development.
