Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has voiced his backing for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign, calling on citizens to grant the President extra time to successfully roll out his administration’s policies.
Adeleke made the declaration at an event attended by the President, the First Lady, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and other top government officials.
The governor, who said he had come from Osun State to express his support, declared that he could feel victory approaching for the ruling party in 2027.
“I can feel the victory coming in 2027,” he said, calling on supporters to sustain the movement behind Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
Adeleke said four years would not be sufficient for the President to fully implement his reform agenda, urging Nigerians to remain patient with the administration.
“We must give our father, the President of this nation, time for his reform to work. It’s not easy. Four years is not enough,” he said.
The Osun governor also called for less talk and more action, insisting that work had already begun towards securing Tinubu’s return to office.
“I’m here to throw my weight because we want action, not too much talking, because we don’t have time. The work has begun. I’ve already started mine from every corner,” he said.
He urged Nigerians to mobilise support for the President’s second term, adding that he wanted Tinubu to return to office so he could complete what he described as good work.
Adeleke also called on Nigerians to continue praying for the country’s leaders, saying the success of the President would benefit the nation.
“Continue praying for Mr President. If you succeed, we all succeed. And I know, by the special grace of God, we shall get there,” he said.
