Ahead of the upcoming 2027 general elections, Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), along with his running mate Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, recently held a town hall meeting with residents in Calabar, Cross River State.
The former Anambra and Kano State governors arrived in the state on Wednesday for the meeting, organised by the NDC Presidential Campaign Council at the Transport Hotel.
Speaking at the event, Obi promised to maintain regular engagement with Nigerians across the country, pledging to visit all 36 states of the federation.
He also promised a comprehensive overhaul of Nigeria’s power sector, saying improved electricity supply would be critical to industrial development and economic growth.
The town hall meeting provided an opportunity for the NDC presidential ticket to present its political vision and policy priorities while interacting with residents on issues affecting the state and the country.
The engagement forms part of the party’s efforts to connect with voters and build support ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
