Kogi Court Sentences Man to Death for Killing Friend

Abdulmutalib Abduljabar has been condemned to death by hanging by a Kogi State High Court located in Okene for the murder of his friend, Momohjimoh Abduljafar, inside the GKAS Hotel within the town.

Delivering judgement on Tuesday, Justice A.S. Hussein found the defendant guilty of culpable homicide punishable with death under Section 221 of the Kogi State Penal Code, 2019 (as amended).

The presiding judge held that the evidence tendered by the prosecution was overwhelming and proved beyond reasonable doubt that the defendant intentionally stabbed his friend to death.
