The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Nasarawa State, Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, has publicly sought forgiveness from party members and residents of the state, emphasizing that unity and cohesion are essential to building on the achievements of the current administration.
Speaking during the APC State Stakeholders Meeting held at the government house in Lafia, Wadada stated that reconciliation would pave the way for collective efforts to propel the state to greater heights.
“To you all, and by that I mean the entire citizens of Nasarawa State—of APC extraction, of all other extractions, across the board—I seek your forgiveness if for any reason I have, directly or indirectly, knowingly or unknowingly, intentionally or unintentionally, offended you. Please forgive me,” he said.
He added, “Nasarawa State is greater than that offence, and even greater than the forgiveness. But what will lead to the rejuvenation and collective endeavor that will deliver Nasarawa State beyond the proud level it is today, led by Engineer Abdullahi Sule, is forgiveness, unity, and cohesion.”
The candidate expressed gratitude to Governor Abdullahi Sule for endorsing his candidacy, while commending his former co-aspirants for rallying behind the party following the primary elections.
“My endorsement by the state governor, as I have always said and will continue to say, is deeply appreciated, and I will remain committed to it in all ramifications,” Wadada stated.
“I will always, given the opportunity, thank my co-aspirants at the time who showed understanding. Each and every one of them is doing the best they can to ensure the success of the APC in Nasarawa State, which of course, will be the success of Wadada.”
He also extended appreciation to the former National Chairman of the APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, for championing the decision to zone the governorship ticket to Nasarawa West, noting that the move reflected the leadership of a listening governor and the will of party members.
Wadada urged party faithful to execute an issue-based campaign, emphasizing that the APC possesses a solid record of achievement at both federal and state levels.
“Our campaigns must be issue-based across the board. We have a story to tell, and our achievements are conspicuously out there for everyone to see,” he added.
