President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has recalled and reinstated M.S. Danjuma, the Permanent Secretary of Finance for Special Duties at the Federal Ministry of Finance, lifting his suspension effective from October 21, 2026.
In a statement issued on Friday, October 23, 2026, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Olumuyiwa Enitan Abel, said the President’s approval was conveyed in a letter dated October 22, 2026.
Danjuma was suspended on August 21, 2026, alongside two other permanent secretaries, following a report from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
The report concerned the activities of a purported agency known as the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office, allegedly promoted by George Buchi Nwabueze, with the suspected active involvement of public servants in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
According to the statement, the President lifted Danjuma’s suspension after due diligence and directed him to resume his official duties.
It added that Danjuma was expected to discharge his responsibilities in accordance with existing Public Service Rules, applicable regulations and the ethical standards governing the Federal Civil Service.
