PDP wins chairmanship, councilorship  seats in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission, ADSIEC has officially announced the results of the local government councils election conducted across the 21 LGAs with the peoples Democratic party winning all the championship and counsellorship seats in the state.

Chairman of the commission (ADSIEC) Mohammed Umar Madagali while announcing the results in Yola on Monday declared that the candidates of the peoples Democratic party PDP have won the championship election in the 21 local government councils in the state.

Umar Madagali also declared that the candidates of the peoples Democratic party, PDP have also won all ward councillorship seats in the 226 wards across the state.

He emphasized that the declaration of the election results were done by the electoral officials at various wards across the state and he role was to read out the party that emerged victorious in the context.

While expressing gratitude to the people for their calmness and orderliness during the exercise, the chairman of the commission describing election as a game of numbers in which there is a winner and a loser.

However in his presentation of the pending election results from Numan local government area at the state collation center, the returning officer,Sani Ahmad reported to the commission that after announcing the PDP candidate as winner, a little skirmish was reported in some wards where election materials were said to be destroyed in protest.

Our correspondent reported that at the beginning of the exercise, eleven (11) political parties indicated interests to participate but only four (4) parties including ADC,APC,SDP and PDP participated.
