Renowned Nollywood actress and filmmaker Adunni Ade has shared the sad news of her mother’s passing following an extended battle with illness.
Ade disclosed the loss in a post on her Instagram page, where she expressed grief over her mother’s passing and prayed for Allah to grant her eternal rest.
She wrote, “lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Indeed, to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return.
With a heavy heart and submission to the will of Almighty Allah, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, who returned to her Creator after a long battle with illness.”
The actress said her mother is survived by her children, grandchildren, sisters and other loved ones who would continue to cherish her memory.
She added, “She leaves behind her children, grandchildren, sisters and loved ones, who will forever hold her memory close.”
Ade also offered prayers for her late mother, asking Allah to forgive her shortcomings, show her mercy and grant her a place in paradise.
“Ya Allah, forgive her shortcomings, have mercy upon her, make her grave spacious and filled with light, and grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus. Grant us sabr and strength as we navigate this painful loss. Ameen,” she wrote.
The filmmaker said details of the funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
Paying a final tribute to her mother, Ade wrote, “Mum, I love you. May Allah grant you eternal peace and reunite us in Jannah. Ameen.”
