Former Niger State Governor, Senator Abubakar Sani Bello, has urged governments, institutions and individuals to see funding education as a long-term investment in national development rather than an expenditure.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony of EL-Amin International School, Abuja, Bello said education remains one of the most effective tools for building a prosperous and united society.
“The ceremony reminded me that investing in education is not merely an expenditure; it is an investment in the future of society. Every scholarship awarded, every child educated and every institution committed to excellence contribute to building a stronger and more united nation,” he said.
He also advised the graduating students to uphold the values of discipline and integrity instilled in them by the school, urging them to contribute positively to Nigeria’s development.
The Emir of Minna, Alhaji Faruk Bahago, described EL-Amin International School as a centre of academic excellence and integrity.
He commended the institution for promoting sound moral values and quality education, describing education as a vital tool for personal growth and national development.
The graduation ceremony attracted dignitaries from the federal and state governments, the diplomatic community, the private sector and parents, who applauded the school’s commitment to academic excellence.
Founded by the late Maryam Babangida, EL-Amin International School was praised for its longstanding contribution to character development and nation-building.
The event also featured a valedictory speech by Ayodeji, who completed his education at the school from nursery to secondary level. Students sponsored by the Sokoto State Government also excelled, winning several academic awards for outstanding performance.
