The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council says its women’s mobilisation structure has reached 176,846 communities across Nigeria as the party begins to deepen its grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The PCC Women Mobilisation Directorate said women’s groups in Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Kwara, Abia, Rivers and other states have been holding community meetings and sensitisation programmes as part of efforts to build a sustained grassroots network.
The mobilisation, according to the Directorate, is designed to keep women connected to households and communities while providing information on government programmes and encouraging participation in the electoral process.
The Director of Women Mobilisation, Dr Betta Edu, working under the guidance of First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, urged women to strengthen their grassroots networks and engage fellow citizens on the policies and programmes of the Bola Tinubu administration.
From Afaka Ward in Kaduna to Kemanji Ward in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, and communities in Katsina, Jigawa, Abia and Rivers, the Directorate said women have continued to organise meetings and sensitisation activities.
It said the engagements are also aimed at helping women understand government interventions, determine their eligibility, access available opportunities and engage the relevant implementing agencies.
Edu said the focus would include practical information on programmes affecting household incomes, businesses and livelihoods.
She identified transportation, enterprise development, agriculture, energy, community development and Renewed Hope Initiative programmes among areas of potential benefit to women.
The Directorate also pointed to the planned expansion of the National Affordable CNG Transit Programme, saying cheaper and more accessible transportation could ease the burden on women who depend on public transport to reach markets, farms, workplaces and schools.
The APC women’s mobilisation drive is expected to continue across the country as the party seeks to establish a stronger community-level structure and build support for President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima ahead of the 2027 elections.
