2027: Diri can’t Save APC from Defeat in Bayelsa – PDP

Leader of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State, Great Joshua Maciver, has said Governor Douye Diri can not save the All Progressives Congress (APC) from defeat during the state and national assembly elections holding in January 2027 and the 2028 governorship election.

Speaking while receiving defectors from APC to PDP at Elebele Community, Ogbia local government area of the state, Maciver expressed confidence that the PDP would return to power in the state.

He said the return of Comrade Gabriel Claudius, popularly known as ‘one million man’ and hundreds of his supporters to the party, has further strengthened PDP and makes it the only formidable party that can win election in Ogbia LGA and Bayelsa as a whole.

He urged party faithful to remain committed and prepare for the political contest ahead, describing politics as requiring determination, hard work and sustained grassroots mobilisation.

He assured PDP candidates for the forthcoming election that the party possess the capacity, structure and experience to secure victories in key National Assembly and State Assembly seats across Bayelsa.

Maciver singled out Ogbia Constituency III as one of the constituencies the PDP is determined to reclaim, urging the party’s House of Assembly candidate to remain focused and fearless.

He also lauded the state Chairman of PDP, Alabh George Turnah, for keeping the PDP united and vibrant despite political realignments in the state, describing him as a courageous and steadfast leader deserving of the party’s full support.

Comrade Comrade Gabriel Claudius who led his supporters to the PDP, said the party has been only peoples party in Bayelsa State since the inception of the current dispensation, saying the people will deliver massively for PDP during the elections.

He said the the people of Ogbia and Bayelsa State cannot abandon the PDP, who has given them Vice President, President and other key positions both in the federal and state governments.

The chairman of PDP in Bayelsa State described the defection as further proof of the PDP’s dominance in Bayelsa State.

He thanked the people of Elebele and Ogbia Ward 8 for their loyalty to the party, assuring them that the PDP would continue to reward their support with meaningful development.
