The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (MPWB) has commenced the registration of intending pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj exercise.
The Director of the Board, Malam Kadiri Edah, disclosed this in Abuja during a chat with reporters, urging prospective pilgrims to complete their registration before the September 25, 2026 deadline set by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
Edah said intending pilgrims are required to pay a minimum deposit of N7.5 million through a bank draft obtained from any commercial bank and made payable to the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Abuja.He explained that the bank drafts should be submitted to the Board’s headquarters in Gudu District, near the FCT Judicial Service Complex, for registration.
According to him, completed registration forms must be accompanied by a valid international passport with validity extending to at least October 2027, a photocopy of the National Identification Number (NIN) slip, four recent passport photographs with a white background and dark clothing, as well as a photocopy of the guarantor’s identity card, one passport photograph and valid contact details, among other required documents.
The director cautioned prospective pilgrims against making cash payments or using agents, stressing that the Board does not accept cash deposits or proxy registrations.
He urged all intending pilgrims to comply with the registration guidelines and submit the required documents before the closing date to avoid missing the opportunity to participate in the 2027 Hajj.
