CAN Honours Apostolic Church President As Father Of Faith

During events commemorating its golden jubilee, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) bestowed the “Father of Faith in Nigeria” honor upon Pastor L. O. Oladele, the National President of The Apostolic Church Nigeria.

The recognition was presented during the association’s golden jubilee celebration and thanksgiving service held in Abuja on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

According to a statement by The Apostolic Church Nigeria, the honour recognises Oladele’s contributions to the Christian faith and his service within the church.

The statement said the award acknowledged “the grace of God upon the life and ministry of the National President”.

It added that the recognition was “a testament to a life of faith, dedication, and service to God and His Church.

“As The Apostolic Church Nigeria celebrates this recognition, we pray that the God who has sustained His servant through the years will continue to uphold him, strengthen him, and grant him greater grace for the work ahead, in Jesus’ name. Amen,” the statement said.

The honour formed part of CAN’s 50th anniversary activities, which also recognised other prominent Nigerians for their contributions to Christianity and national development.

TVC News had earlier reported that CAN honoured First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, former Heads of State Generals Yakubu Gowon and Olusegun Obasanjo, former President Goodluck Jonathan and former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the anniversary celebration.

Tinubu received the Christian Icon Award, while Gowon, Obasanjo, Jonathan and Osinbajo were presented with the Pillar of Faith Award.

The golden jubilee celebration also featured a thanksgiving service, on Sunday, October 18 during which the First Lady called for greater unity within the body of Christ.
