Delta State Launches ₦5 Billion Grant for Small Businesses

The Delta State administration has launched a major ₦5 billion grassroots support initiative designed to empower 100,000 small-scale entrepreneurs and other beneficiaries throughout the state.

Under the scheme, each beneficiary is expected to receive ₦50,000, with the programme covering all 500 wards in the state.

The Executive Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Public Enlightenment (Projects and Policies), Olisa Ifeajika, disclosed this while speaking with journalists in Asaba.

He said the governor had directed local government councillors to facilitate the distribution, with each ward expected to reach at least 200 beneficiaries.

He said the programme would help small business owners, strengthen household finances and stimulate economic activities at the grassroots.

Ifeajika added that the initiative reflected the state government’s commitment to improving livelihoods and expanding economic opportunities under Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda.
