Minority Leader of the 9th Senate, Senator Philip Aduda, has received the former chairmanship candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in the last Abaji Area Council election, Muhammad Angulu Loko, alongside 6,200 supporters, into the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Aduda, who is the APC senatorial candidate for the FCT in the 2027 election, jointly received the former YPP candidate, his supporters, the Abaji YPP Chairman, Alhaji Alhassan Suleiman, and executive members of the party at a ceremony held at the Abaji Town Hall.
The defectors were formally received alongside the FCT APC State Chairman, Ishaku Tanko Yamawo, the party secretary, and other top party stalwarts.
Speaking at the decamping ceremony, Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda commended Loko for aligning with the ruling party, describing it as a step in the right direction.
He praised the former chairmanship candidate as a grassroots politician and expressed confidence that Loko would mobilize supporters across the 10 political wards of the council to deliver victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC National Assembly candidates in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking earlier on behalf of his supporters, Angulu Loko described his decision to join the APC as a necessity driven by the outstanding performance of President Tinubu through the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
On his part, the FCT APC Chairman, Ishaku Tanko Yamawo, commended Loko, his supporters, and the YPP executive members for pitching their tent with the ruling party.
He emphasized the need for all APC stakeholders in the council to work together as a unified team to deliver President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC National Assembly candidates in 2027.
